AFTERCARE ADVICE

Healing time for a handpoke tattoo is usually between 3-7 days depending on the design and the condition of your skin.

During and after the process you may experience some redness and swelling, this is normal.

Occasionally mild bruising can occur on certain areas of the body but this is rare.

Some itching and peeling may occur during the healing process.

Keep the tattoo well moisturised with a natural oil or balm.

Avoid any friction or constant rubbing of the tattoo whilst it heals. This can cause it to become aggravated and sensitive. If you are concerned that this may happen then protect the tattoo with a layer of Vaseline and/or some clingfilm. I will provide you with this if needed. I put a layer of second skin covering on the tattoo to protect it after the session and this can be kept on for 24-48 hours.

Unlike a machine tattoo , handpoke tattoos do not require being covered for long periods of time. This is because handpoke is less aggressive on the skin and is not such a wound afterwards.

This means you can swim! Yay!

You can shower normally using mild soap and warm water. Do not soak in a hot bath or jacuzzi until the tattoo is healed.

Sun exposure can and will fade tattoos. To prevent this, use a high factor sunscreen and keep out of direct sunlight whilst it is healing.

Do not scratch, rub or pick your tattoo whilst it is healing.

In the very unlikely event of infection consult your doctor.

Enjoy wearing your new skin art!
